Each session we enjoy a day trip to some interesting place in South Carolina. These trips are planned by our travel coordinator, who selects the sites, arranges the bus travel, arranges lunch at a nearby local restaurant, and always offers a stop for such essentials as ice cream.

Some of the more popular recent trips have been to Brookgreen Gardens, Mepkin Abbey Creche Festival, Charleston Tea Plantation, with stops at the Angel Oak and the winery that makes Firefly Vodka; the BMW factory in Spartanburg, the Biltmore Estate and Lake Jocassee during the peak foliage season. Our longest trip–-so far–-was a tour of English cathedrals, which was planned and led by one of our members who had taught a class on English cathedrals and the class demanded a field trip!
